Rowing club committee members and coaches are invited to the first Satellite Clubs Rowing forum delivered by Energise Me and British Rowing. This forum aims to allow Rowing clubs to hear about and understand what the Satellite Clubs initiative is; how it can benefit them by increasing participation numbers, supporting development of coaching workforce, and pay for equipment.

The forum is open to all Rowing Clubs or Rowing delivery organisations to attend from the counties of Hampshire, IOW. Coaches from Dorset, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Surrey, Kent, Sussex and Middlesex are invited to attend the workshop presentation delivered by Leander Club Chief Coach and Director of Rowing Mark Banks. Mark was also part of the GB Coaching team at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. His presentation ‘Zero to Hero in three years’ How to make an athlete into a rower, will guide attendees to understand what technical aspects are required to progress an identified athlete to a world class rower and how these principles can be applied to their own rowing club environment.

Hampshire and IOW based Rowing Clubs and Rowing Delivery Organisations are asked to bring at least one committee member and coach to the forum with each attending both workshops free of charge. Coaches from outside of Hampshire or IOW will be asked to pay £25 to attend Mark Banks workshop. There are 30 spaces available for this workshop so please book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. You are also invited to attend if you are interested.
